The next Silverstone Auction promises to be a cracker. Submissions are currently open, but confirmed so far is an 1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 Open Tourer and this 1925 Bentley 3.0-Litre Vanden Plas-style Tourer.

1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 Open Tourer
This 1926 Phantom 1 Tourer has been lovingly restored and is in fabulous condition. It was rebodied in the eighties with an Edwardian Shooting-Brake flat body. In those days, Roll Royce delivered the chassis to the coachbuilder.
The ‘New Phantom’ stayed in production until 1929 with 2,269 chassis being creafted. This car is accompanied comes with photocopies of original documents which include build sheets, spring testing, component selection, weight reports, inspections and pleasingly the car’s service records (at the Works) to 1938.
The car has been owned by Raymond Lippiatt since 2004. Raymond known and respected among the Bentley and Roll Royce Owner’s and Driver’s Clubs. The ‘Shooting Brake’ rear bodywork was saved from the scrapyard in 1987. 1927 Phantom 1 was once known as ‘The Best Car in the World’.

This genuine, matching numbers, mid-twenties 3-litre has coachwork by HJ Mulliner with their Grey and Black ‘All weather’ bodywork. Green, the current colour, was very seldom used at the time.
Raymond Lippiatt is also owns this splendid car (PE 2667). The original colours would not have looked nearly as stunning as the current paint job: BRG (Napier Green) and Brooklands Green with black wings, running boards and wire wheels. The interior has deliciously patinated black leather, just as you would expect from a well-used and well-loved Vintage (pre-1931) Bentley. It comes with the original toolbox, spares chest, Pratts petrol can and hessian-covered suitcase.
Silverstone Auctions entries are open for the Friday 30 July – Sunday 1 August with submissions to close on Monday 12th July.
