Cupra Australia Opens Order Books For August Deliveries

Cupra is a brand most have not yet heard about, but it is here, finally.

Cupra is a spin-off brand of the Spanish brand, SEAT and was once known as SEAT Performance. It got quite the following, and it backed by mother company, Volkswagen.

The striking designs should find favour, and to match the boutique-style company, it has a boutique-style sales and ownership model. The first models available for order are the Leon VZ and VZx hatchback, Formentor V, VZ and VZx crossover, and Ateca VZx SUV at cupraofficial.com.au

Cars have started arriving at the docks ahead of August customer deliveries.

August will also see Leon VZe and Formentor VZe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) able to be test driven. First orders start in August, with delivery starting in October.

CUPRA Australia Director, Ben Wilks, confirmed: “From Barcelona to Australia, our progressive and exciting CUPRA models are arriving now for first deliveries from August.”

Initial deliveries are MY22 (available now), with MY23 ordering availability during August.

Leon V, Leon VZe and Formentor VZe will commence in MY23.

The MY23 CUPRA Leon V, VZ, VZe and VZx upgrade from a 10-inch to a 12-inch touchscreen and replace Dynamic LED tail lights (scrolling indicators) with Static LED tail lights, for an additional $400 on VZ, and $500 on VZe and VZx. As the Leon V commences in MY23, there is no price change and driveaway is TBC.

A 360-degree camera rejoins MY23 CUPRA Formentor VZx specification, for an ectra $500.

A no extra cost, towing pre-wiring is now available across the MY23 Ateca and Formentor range. Unbraked towing of 750kg for all variants. The braked towing capacities are:

2100kg for Ateca VZx
1,700kg for Formentor V
1,600kg for VZ
1500kg for VZe
1,800kg for VZx.
