The Honda CR-Z has been crowned Car of the Year and Best Hybrid in the Autocar ASEAN Car of the Year Awards 2012 in Malaysia.

In its ninth year the awards aim to recognize and award the best new cars in Malaysia as chosen by a panel of expert judges. The Autocar ASEAN Car of the Year Awards 2012 included 20 vehicle categories with the CR-Z taking out top honours and also Best Hybrid.

Honda Australia Director and General Manager Sales and Marketing, Mr. Stephen Collins, said the award is further confirmation that the CR-Z is in a class all of its own.

“On the back of the 2011 Wheels Car of the Year Award, this recognition by the Malaysian market confirms once more that the CR-Z is truly an amazing car across all markets.  It captures Honda’s joyful spirit and vision for a cleaner future whilst providing exhilarating, sporty and agile performance,” says Mr. Collins.

Other accolades for the CR-Z include the 2012 Design Award in the Automotive and Transport category at the Australian International Design Awards, Top Gear UK’s Green Car of the Year and was also the 2010 Japan Car of the Year.
