Honda Releases Teaser Images of the all-new Civic Hatchback.

Hondas all-new 11th generation Civic hatchback follows a long and grand tradition of Honda hatches. At various stages, Civic has been Honda’s best seller. Releasing a new Civic is a brave move as the world continues the move to SUV style cars.

Civic was first seen in 1972, the Civic series has become a bit of a jugganaut, with sales in 170 countries.

Over 27 million Civics have found homes, and that is no small effort. Honda says “Civic has always been at the forefront of small car trends and is constantly evolving to capture customer needs and deliver an enjoyable ownership experience.”

We will see more detail at the world premiere of the all-new model on June 24, 2021.

We’ve reviewed many Civics over the years, and it has always been a joy to drive. In recent years, Civic has become lost in a sea of hatches. Covid has devastated the auto industry as it has all other industries and sales have declined in Australia. The Type R acts as a halo model for the brand, but it too has been quiet.

Honda is still a top-ten retailer, but they will need to pull something out of the bag if they’re to stay there. The recent rise and rise of Chinese car maker, MG, must be a cause for pause. Buyers are moving to either super-posh- or super-budget brands. If Honda, and other mid-range auto makers are to survive, they’re going to need to get noticed.

Honda will continue releasing information on the dedicated ‘new Civic hatchback’ pages within its company website at: https://www.honda.co.jp/CIVIC/new/ (Japanese only)

Honda will debut all-new Civic hatchback on Thursday June 24, 2021.

A live feed starts at 10.00am JST (11.00am AEST) on the official Honda YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/user/HondaJPPR (English subtitle will be available)

The all-new Civic hatch is scheduled to go on sale in the northern hemisphere this autumn.
