Hyundai and Kia Scoop World Car Awards

World Car Design Awards transcend other awards from any single publication. 100 journalists from 32 countries  select the best of the best in chosen catagories.

“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious honour two years in a row, which recognises the tremendous talents and unrelenting efforts of everyone at Hyundai Motor Company to bring EVs like IONIQ 6 to market,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. “This honour reinforces our commitment to be a global leader in vehicle electrification and will serve to embolden our efforts as a smart mobility solutions provider.”

IONIQ 6 follows in the wheel tracks of IONIQ 5, an electric car that won these very awards last year. The ceremony, held in New York, gave the gong to IONIQ 6 as  World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle and World Car Design of the Year.

Hyundai group EVs include the IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, Genesis GV60, Genesis GV70, Genesis G80, Kia Niro, and KIA EV6

To further cement the Korean car maker as an emerging leader in the field, 2023 World Performance Car is the KIA EV6 GT.

All of the World Car Award trophies were created this year by legendary automotive designer IAN CALLUM’s design and engineering consultancy CALLUM. “The World Car Awards are held in the highest regard by the industry and as a recipient, I appreciate how much it means to a design team to have it proudly on display in the studio,” says Ian Callum. “Reimagining both the design and manufacture is a huge privilege and just the opportunity the team at CALLUM relish.”

All seven of the new CALLUM designed trophies were produced by REPLIQUE using the first fully encrypted 3D printing platform that offers OEMs a secure and sustainable means of providing parts on demand, anytime, anywhere. “We are proud to be chosen as the manufacturer of this year’s World Car Awards, and by that take part in such an important event within the automotive industry,” says Henrike Wonneberger, co-founder of Replique.
