The Slippery Stunner Wins Big at 2025 Great British Fleet Awards
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 has once again claimed pole position in the fleet world, being crowned Best EV Executive Car at the 2025 Great British Fleet Awards—for the second year running. This swoopy all-electric sedan isn’t just a pretty face; it’s a certified overachiever, already a triple threat with gongs for World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year under its belt. Now, it adds yet another trophy to its swelling cabinet.
Fleet World’s judges couldn’t stop swooning over the IONIQ 6’s sleek, sci-fi silhouette and high-tech interior. “Daring to be different,” said Editor John Challen, “Hyundai took a chance—and it paid off. From its ultra-fast charging to the standout styling, this car commands attention.”
Sadly, the awards don’t translate into sales, at least not in Australia. IONIQ 6 sold a miserable 14 units last month (April 2025) down from 58 last year. Total year sales are 58, down from 133 for 2024 at this time of the year. Like all passenger cars, the buyers continue to be thin on the ground.
Under the skin, the IONIQ 6 means business. Whether you’re rear-wheel rolling with 228PS or AWD-thrusting with a beefy 325PS, both options come standard with a 77.4kWh battery capable of up to 338 miles of range. Plus, that 800V E-GMP platform lets you juice up like a champ with 350kW ultra-fast charging. Translation? Long legs, quick zaps, and minimal downtime.

Fleet buyers aren’t just seduced by the IONIQ 6’s looks—they’re reassured by Hyundai’s five-year unlimited-kilometre warranty and robust dealer network. Tim White, Hyundai UK’s Head of Fleet, summed it up perfectly: “It’s the total package—style, quality, practicality, and peace of mind.”
Whether you’re commuting to the boardroom or cruising through suburbia with the family in tow, the IONIQ 6 Premium and Ultimate trims deliver everything but the kitchen sink. No wonder it also nabbed Best Family Car at the 2024 UK Car of the Year Awards.
Hyundai’s electric game? Absolutely on point. The IONIQ 6 isn’t just a car—it’s a statement.
