Jeep Avenger EV in Australia 2024

Jeep confirmed the all-new Jeep Avenger battery electric vehicle (BEV) for Australia in 2024.

The Stellantis umbrella is yielding fruit, with the Jeep Avenger EV coming out of the Stellantis factory in Tychy, Poland.

Jeep Avenger was unveiled in October 2022, going on to win many gongs. As the world moves toward the banishing of CO2 emissions, a company will stand or fall on its EV offerings. The early bird catches the worm, and up until now, despite claims to the contrary, Jeep has offered little to the SUV-ists wanting eco-friendly rides

To that end, Jeep Avenger spearheads signals the arrival of the first of the brand’s fully electric vehicles. For a company that made its name of sturdy off-roaders, and SUVs with engines the size of small suns, their global electrification strategy is now to reposition as a world leader in zero exhaust emission SUVs.

Jeep Avenger is built as a Jeep from the ground up. With that, it is said to promise Jeep capability with EV economy. It remains to be seen how far off-road the ability extends, but we can’t wait to find out. Remember, most SUVs, even those with a Jeep badge, never leave the tarmac.

“The Jeep Avenger represents a key milestone for the Jeep brand, our first zero exhaust emission SUV,” said Michael Filazzola, Jeep Australia Managing Director.

“A compact SUV, the Avenger will provide a new entry point to the Jeep range while adding another level of electrification to our offering in Australia and represents a further step in the Jeep brand’s evolution,” Filazzola continued.

Jeep Avenger has 360-degrees shock protection encased lights and colour-moulded skid plates that at least make it look the part.

The 4.08 metre long Jeep Avenger is the smallest in the brand, but is said to be big and butch enough to take five people and their luggage. The interior has 34 litres of storage, and the 1 meter-wide, square-shaped trunk is styled to be useful as well as beautiful.

Jeep Avenger range is 400km* WLTP, but up to 550km* in town. Punters can grab 30 km (average daily need) with Standard fast charging in around three minutes.  It will go from 20% to 80% in 24 minutes. Car makers quote 20-to-80% figures with that being the optimal maximum recommended for fast charging.

The Jeep Avenger comes with ADAS features, and level-2 driving autonomy. Features incllude:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking with Vulnerable Road Users (pedestrian and cyclist) protection
  • Automatic parking
  • 1800 rear camera with drone view

There is a 10.25” touch screen Uconnect Infotainment system, and either 7” or 10.25” full digital clusters

Jeep Avenger lands in the second half of 2024, with full pricing and specifications revealed closer to launch. Meanwhile, register your interest at https://www.jeep.com.au/avenger.html.
