Lexus Recalls 5219 Vehicles for Faulty Cameras

Lexus Australia announced a Customer Service Exercise (CSE) (in other words, a recall) for front and rear-view cameras on a range of Lexus models from 20^th October 2022 to 28^th August 2023. Around 5,219 vehicles are affected, and the recall will correct a simple defect in manufacture.

Recalls are a regular occurrence in the automotive industry. It gives the brand an opportunity to correct faults before they become an issue. A Lexus owner will not be left in the cold

The cameras are part of the surround view for which Lexus known for. It Allows the driver to swing the view to the desired angle using the centre touch screen.

The defect occurred when the supplier used insufficient laser welding on the camera. Over time, water may leak into the camera causing it to fail. Lexus dealers will inspect the camera and replace if necessary, free of charge.

Although the process might take up to 3.5 hours, the Dealer’s work schedule may require a long period for the vehicle to be made available to them.
