“With our eyes fixed on the future, we have developed an idea, with the MINI Vision Urbanaut, of how we can take the MINI attributes – with the focus on the ‘Clever Use of Space’ – into the future of mobility and interpret them in a typically MINI way,” continued Mr. Körber.. “

‘Wanderlust’ is the only MINI moment where the MINI Vision Urbanaut is driven or driving with automated driving functions.

The cabin brings back the romance of travel for the lucky travellers. The MINI Vision Urbanaut is can be fully autonomous, but the steering wheel and pedals deploy at the touch of the Mini logo, just in case the driver wants to take over.

Multi-faceted sustainability.

MINI Vision Urbanaut also focuses on sustainability.

Designers  “Clever Use of Space” gives occulants maximum space with a tiny footprint. It is 4.46 m long, and the height allows for a versatile interior space.

There are several concepts, Chill, Vibe and Wanderlust, that give the MINI Vision Urbanaut a purpose beyond just being a van to get around town in. It is an urban space, that could be a small businesses headquarters of the future.

The MINI development is an EV focused on avoiding unnecessary use of materials.

This approach sees clever dual-purpose furniture on the car, including a dashboard that doubles as a daybed, and the multi-function circular OLED centre display which recasts itself as a stylish lamp in the Chill moment – above the table. Is it a camper, a car, A Van? The user decides.

Could this Urban EV be a way all future vehicles to head?
