Mitsubishi Makes subtle Changes to MY22.5 Triton


Mitsubishi is giving Triton a mid-year nip-n-tuck. Actually, it is more of a mild enhancement with the addition of a couple of tasty extras.

Triton is an enduring nameplate for the Mitsubishi brand,” said Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO, Shaun Westcott.

“Its reputation as a highly capable and reliable vehicle, combined with its wide array of accessory options and unmatched 10-year warranty, have ensured its ongoing success.

“Whether looking for an everyday, rugged workhorse through to a fun family car, seeking adventure or just needing to ‘get there’, there is a new Mitsubishi Triton available to suit,” he said.

22.5MY Triton starts production this month for deliveries mid2022.

High-specification Triton GSR gains Multi Around Monitor

Triton GSR Dual-Cab Pick-Up gets a smarter Smartphone link Display Audio system with 7” touchscreen, six speakers, digital radio and Bluetooth connectivity with voice control and audio streaming

It comes with a 3600 Multi Around Monitor, and an HDMI port for additional connectivity.

Diesel Cab-Chassis and GLX Pick-Up

Triton diesel Cab-Chassis and GLX Pick-Up utes get the 7.0-inch MiDisplay infotainment system.

The four-speaker touchscreen system has Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, with a 3-in-1 USB to Lightning Type C & Micro USB cable. Digital radio and Bluetooth connectivityand audio streaming are also included.

The entry-level, petrol-powered GLX Cab Chassis 4×2 manual retains its 6.1-inch touchscreen Display Audio unit with CD player and two speakers.

Dependable drivetrains

Triton GLX Single Cab Chassis 4×2 has a 94kW 2.4-litre petrol engine with a five-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption is 11.4L/100km.

All other Tritons gat the MIVEC 2.4-litre turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine, with a choice of 4×2 or 4×4, six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmissions.

Output of a modest 133kW/430Nm gets and economical 7.8L/100km to 8.6L/100km, depending on vehicle grade and transmission, and load.

Safety is paramount

  • Passive and active safety features include:
  • airbags to the front and side for both the driver and front passenger
  • curtain airbags
  • driver’s knee airbag.
