Automobili Lamborghini set a new sales record by moving 4,852 cars in the first 6 months of 2021. This production record shows that Covid doesn’t seem to have dampened enthusiasm for fast and furious, luxury cars.

As if that wasn’t enough, in only 3 years since launch, Lamborghini Urus Super SUV passed 15,000 cars sold. It will come as no surprise that this is Lamborghini’s best-selling model in it’s history.

To celebrate this milestone Urus chassis number 15,000, is going to British showrooms, has the very latest “Graphite Capsule” theme colours and finishes.

With the Urus sales, Automobili Lamborghini sales have jumped considerably since December 2017. Lamborghini sales doubled in 2019, which was the Urus’ the first full year.

It seems that good performance and distinctive looks have been a winner with buyers. The mix of a super sports car and an SUV, have been irresistible. This move has been common across the automotive market with most brands moving to SUV models as their mainstay.

To remind you of the Urus in brief: it carries a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, with 650 HP (478 kW) and 850 Nm of torque. That translates to162.7 HP/litre, and a power-to-weight ratio at 3.38 kg/HP. It will do the 0-100 km dash in3.6 seconds. On to 0-200 km/h in 12.8 seconds, withs a top speed of 305 km/h. Urus is one of the fastest Super SUVs on sales.

Urus has proved to be the fastest car on ice, setting this speed record on the ice of Lake Baikal in Russia in March 2021, during the Days of Speed. Urus got to a top speed of 298 km/h, with an average speed from a standing start of 114 km/h over 1000 meters. This performance record was set despite reduced traction due to the ice and strong gusts of wind.
