See Corvette Z06 GT3.R at Bathurst 12 Hour 2026

Grab your earplugs and your rainbow flag — the Corvette Z06 GT3.R is heading to Mount Panorama for the 2026 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, running 13–15 February. It’s the first time Chevy’s thunderous GT3 racer will take on Australia’s most iconic circuit, and it promises to rattle both the mountain and a few egos.

Developed from the road-legal Corvette Z06, this beast is Chevrolet’s first purpose-built GT3 machine, a global contender already bagging wins in IMSA and the European Le Mans Series. Under that chiselled carbon-fibre skin lies a 5.5-litre flat-plane-crank V8 — the same engine architecture as the street version, just angrier, louder, and entirely unapologetic.

“It’s incredibly exciting for us to welcome the Corvette Z06 GT3.R down under,” said GM ANZ Managing Director Jess Bala. “Corvette has been a cornerstone of our GMSV brand, and fans will love seeing this ultimate version of the car unleashed at Bathurst.”

Corvette Racing Program Manager Jessica Dane echoed the sentiment, calling Bathurst “one of the most prestigious GT races in the world” and a personal highlight: “The GT3 platform lets us race in regions we never have before — bringing the Z06 GT3.R to Australia and New Zealand fans is beyond exciting.”

Even Bathurst 12 Hour Event Director Shane Rudzis was buzzing: “To finally have Corvette lining up against the Europeans is something fans have dreamed of for years. This will be one hell of a showdown.”

Driver and team announcements are coming soon, but the message is clear — the 2026 Bathurst 12 Hour will be a symphony of screaming V8s, global rivalry, and a touch of American bravado. Expect thunder, glamour, and more than a few gays at the fence line cheering it on.
