Since 1959, Toyota Land Cruiser has been one of Australia’s favourite cars. The story started when Sir Les Thiess imported 13 Toyota Land Cruisers to toil at the Snowy Hydro scheme. He loved them so much, he bought the importing contract to Queensland and New South Wales. Since then, Land Cruiser helped Toyota become no.1 automotive retailer.
Toyota Hilux scored the top position by a long shot. It sold around 500 units more than the number 2 spot last month. 3,516 sales are down 20.1% on this time last year. Hilux is Toyota's biggest selling car, followed by RAV4 at 2,132 and Corolla with 2,117 sales. Ford Ranger has a way to go to catch up. [...]
