Tesla Model 3 Colors and Prices

The Tesla Model 3 comes in five stunning colors. These colors come in a variety of prices costing up to $2,900 extra in Australia.

Previously the Tesla Model 3 had a default color of solid black at no extra cost. This changed in mid 2019 when Tesla CEO tweeted that the company would be switching the standard color for the model 3 from solid black to a simple white. This move would make the solid black color an extra $1,500 with the simple white being the default at no extra cost.

Those with their hearts set on the promise of simple white were soon let down, with the Tesla CEO Elon Musk responding to tweets explaining that a simple white color would add significantly more complexity to service repairs, thus sticking with the Pearl White Multi-Coat option.

Multi-Coat vs Single Coat

Some customers have described the Pearl White Multi-Coat to have a deeper gloss and noticeably more depth than single coat colors. However, customers have also reported experiencing higher cost and more difficulty matching the correct color when it comes to repairing dints and scratches on cars with multi-coats as blending the colors is noted as a complex task.

Currently Pearl White and Red are the only two multi-coat colors that are offered to the Model 3. The other three colors of Solid Black, Midnight Silver and Deep Blue are all single-coat colors. Midnight Silver and Deep Blue are the only two Metalic colors offered in the model 3 line up.

Pricing

Red multi-coat is currently the most expensive colours with an additional price of $2,900. Solid Black, Midnight Silver and Deep Blue are all priced at the reasonable amount of $1,500 extra. The more popular Pearl White is currently free of charge to customers wanting to purchase a model 3 however there is no certainty that this won’t change in the future.
