2020 Audi RS Q3: Very Loud and Proud
We’ve driven the regular Q3, and we liked it a lot. Why would someone buy an RS over a regular Q then?
RS takes Q3, and dials the fabulous to stratospheric. That sound is astonishing! It gives you a tingle in your nether regions, beaming excitement directly into your brain.
The key fob has RS on it, and there are more RS badges placed strategically around the body.
What gay boy doesn’t want to flog a fabulously powerful car on a track. Once you’ve finished flogging, you’re going to want to be all nice and calm. Put on some soothing sound, and drive home in comfort mode.

What’s so good about RS Q3?
The 2.5L 5-cylinder engine is a peach. Its turbo charged alchemy transforms mama’s shopping cart into a lethal weapon.
QUATTRO AWD propelled Audi to a cabinet chockers full of rally trophies. Power is shunted to the AWD system through a 7-speed S-Tronic, aka DSG, automatic. Remember, Audi is one of the VW group brands, so you’ll see this gearbox in other VW models. That’s a good thing.
Fuel consumption is modest at 8.9L/100k, unless you mash you loafer into the carpet. You’ll get to 100kph in 4.5 seconds on the way to a limited top speed of 250kph. That’s more than enough. Any more than that and you can kiss your ass, and your licence, goodbye!

Do I look good in an Audi RS Q3?
Well of course you do. It is law.
It is the little black dress of the automotive world. It goes with everything, including huge gold hoops.
The best part about owning an RS is never having to apologise at dinner parties. You can roll down the window and sashay away, all the way down Oxford Street.
RS Q3 isn’t as flashy as an M3 or M4. It is an SUV, albeit a small one, so it is more practical too.
There are far too many gizmos to list, so visit Audi for the full list.
Is the cabin Quiet?
On most road surfaces, the cabin is as quiet as a slice of cheese cake.
Not only that, the ride is as smooth as a Bublé ballad. The seats are so comfy, you could drop a few quick Zeds after you commute. Front seats have buttons to move them every which way, including a nifty lumber support. Additionally, RS Q3 will store a couple of positions for you, in case your hubby is a short-arse.
The soft leather as supple as a new kitten, is stitched in red, and is trimmed in red Alcantara. It looks very inviting.
The switch gear is placed exactly where you expect it to be, and is incredibly easy to come to terms with. It is almost as if it has been thought about.
Is RS Q3 full of gadgets?
The usual safety gear is there. There is a plethora of airbags, AEB, and smart cruise control. Lane control keeps you centred, and works with Blind Spot Monitoring to stop you from banging it to feckless boobs driving too close to you.
It makes road trips easy and stress free. Of course, lots of cars do that, and if you really want a no-stress experience, catch a train and get blotto, but that’s not nearly as much fun. You’ll look like a complete dick laying pathetic story down at parties.
Your iPhone is well catered for too. I can already hear Android users gnashing their teeth. Well stop complaining you silly gronks. Get a real phone! iPhone users get wireless CarPlay. Hoorah! Both platforms can use the wireless charging, but Apple buyers will be just a little smug, as well they should.
What’s Audi RS Q3 like to drive?
What a peach.
I do rattle on a bit about RS mode in my film. Well, there is a lot to shout about. You don’t have to faff about trying to find the right buttons, a big RS is right there on the steering wheel.
Steering is sublime. The weighting changes as modes are fettled. It also modifies transmission and suspension settings, all in a single control.
RS mode opens a flap allowing a flood of ecstasy to flow from the back end. RS cackles and spits, as it rockets forward. Very few thrills like this, can be had for this price.
Audi RS Q3 is stunning, just stunning.
Not only is it fast, but it sticks to the road like left over smashed avocado to a plate.
21” alloys with 255/35 tyres glue you to the road, and MacPherson strut/multilink suspension is aided by adaptive damping.
There is as much white-knuckle fun to be had even when doing the daily shopping. Electronic nannies prevent most code-brown emergencies, but always drive safely. If you must be a complete bogan, do it on a track.
Would I buy an RS Q3?
I’m a canny buyer.
I like to get what I pay for, and you should too. I want all the latest safety gear, but I want to be comfortable. I could go for something less expensive of course, but I think not. I demand performance.
Yes I would buy an Audi RS Q3.
