Why Hyundai Teams Up with NSW Rugby League

Hyundai Australia is shifting gears and driving straight into rugby league territory, officially becoming the automotive partner of NSW Rugby League. That means the Westpac NSW Blues, the Westpac NSW Blues Women, and NSW Representative Teams will all have Hyundai cheering them on from the sidelines for the next two years.

It’s a big move, but not an unfamiliar one. Hyundai has been backing rugby league since 1993, and this latest partnership cements its commitment to the sport, from local clubhouses to the high-stakes battlefield of State of Origin. It’s not just about branding—Hyundai is getting its hands dirty (metaphorically, of course) by providing support at every level, including equipment, resources, and even a cheeky $1,000 cashback for club members buying a new car. Because who doesn’t love a discount with their footy fix?

And if that wasn’t enough star power, Hyundai has enlisted none other than NRL Hall of Famer Steve Menzies as their Rugby League Brand Ambassador. With a head of hair almost as famous as his on-field exploits, Menzies will be front and centre, helping inspire the next generation of footy legends.

NSW Rugby League Chief Executive David Trodden summed it up best: “Rugby league has an incredible ability to bring communities closer, and we’re honoured to support that spirit.”

For Hyundai, this partnership is less about corporate deals and more about celebrating the sport that brings mates together, fuels friendly rivalries, and keeps pub arguments alive year-round. With this new alliance, Hyundai isn’t just parking itself in rugby league—it’s taking the wheel.
