Nissan Oceania locked in local pricing and specifications for the 2027 Nissan Y63 Patrol, bringing a twin-turbo V6 engine, updated cabin technology, and a factory off-road grade to Australian showrooms.
Opening at $98,990 MSRP for the base Ti trim, a $2,450 increase over the outgoing model, the line-up tops out at $145,990 for the Ti-L Reserve.
The range also introduces the Patrol PRO-4X off-road grade, priced at $137,590. Nissan Australia has order books open now, but first customer deliveries won’t start until early 2027.
Nothing Carried Over From the Y62
Nissan Australia confirmed to GayCarBoys that no components are carried over from the Y62 to the Y63, and that the car is all-new from the ground up.
The 2027 Nissan Y63 Patrol does keep the same 3,075mm wheelbase figure as the Y62 it replaces, but that’s a measurement, not a shared part.

Nissan quotes a ladder frame with 25% more torsional rigidity and 57% more lateral stiffness than the outgoing car, so the structure has had real work done to it. The body panels, the screens and the engine bay are all fresh.
Nissan Y63 Patrol Ditches the V8 for Twin-Turbo Torque
The biggest mechanical change is under the bonnet. Nissan dropped the long-running, naturally aspirated 5.6-litre V8 across all 6 grades in favour of a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 drawn from Nissan’s VR engine family.
Paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the twin-turbo V6 produces 317kW/700Nm. That’s a 19kW/140Nm gain over the outgoing V8, up roughly 6% on power and 25% on torque, with peak torque delivered much earlier in the rev range.
To address concerns about off-road durability, the engine incorporates a scavenger oil pump designed to maintain oil flow during steep climbs, descents, and off-camber driving.
Full-time four-wheel drive remains standard across the range, using a 4L and 4H interlocking transfer case, an electronic locking rear differential, and 8 drive modes. Braked towing capacity stays fixed at 3,700kg across all grades.
Chassis and Suspension Setup
Underneath, the multi-link independent suspension is paired with electric power steering. Suspension hardware varies with the trim level.
- Ti and Ti+ get the standard multi-link setup.
- Ti-L and Ti-L+ add Intelligent Dynamic Damping (e-Damper) shock absorbers that continuously adapt to road conditions.
- PRO-4X and Ti-L Reserve combine the e-Damper setup with Adaptive Air Suspension. That lets the car raise its ride height for trail clearance, lower automatically above 90km/h on the highway, and drop down in Park for easier entry and exit.
The PRO-4X Off-Road Grade
The introduction of the PRO-4X targets buyers looking for factory-backed off-road equipment, much like the GWM Tank 300 Ultra Hi4-T we drove. Positioned near the top of the range, it takes the equipment list of the Ti-L and adds dedicated trail hardware.
Visual and functional changes include a unique front bumper designed to improve the approach angle, matte-black over-fender flares, 20-inch black alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, and Lava Red exterior accents. The front end also gets a three-slot grille detail referencing older Pathfinder and Navara models.
Standard gear on the PRO-4X includes the Adaptive Air Suspension, a centre console cool box, heated and ventilated front seats, an electric trailer brake controller, and integrated trailer docking support.
Interior Architecture and Modern Tech
The cabin gets a major visual refresh centred around a dual-screen Monolith dashboard. Entry Ti and Ti+ models feature twin 12.3-inch displays, while Ti-L grades and above upgrade to twin 14.3-inch screens.
The 2027 Nissan Y63 Patrol is the first Nissan in Australia to feature Google built-in software, incorporating Google Gemini AI+ via NissanConnect services.
Additional interior details across the range include the following.
- Invisible Hood View. A 3D Around View Monitor displays a “skeleton view” of the terrain beneath the engine bay to help with wheel placement on technical tracks.
- Biometric cooling. Standard on Ti-L+, PRO-4X, and Ti-L Reserve, this system uses infrared sensors to check passenger skin temperature on entry and adjusts the climate control automatically.
- Seating and audio. Higher grades feature “Zero Gravity” seating with Kumiko lattice stitching. Ti-L models gain a 12-speaker Klipsch audio system, while the Ti-L Reserve adds twin 12.8-inch rear-seat entertainment screens.
Warranty and Servicing
Nissan offers the Y63 with its 10-year/300,000km MORE warranty scheme, provided the vehicle is maintained through an authorised dealer. Capped-price servicing is set at $499 per visit for the first 5 years, with service intervals scheduled at 12 months or 15,000km.
