70mai A810 Lite 4G Dash Cam Review, $159.99

The first things to note about the new 70mai A810 Lite is the optional 4G connectivity which extends the value of the app with OTA notifications.

70mai a810 lite $159.99 AUD final price after coupon discount in the description applied HERE https://amzn.to/4xQW0VZ. The 4G using the parking hardwire kit for battery, which also allows shock parking recordings sent to your phone. 3 plans include a free starter pack with 300mb data included. After that you need a subscription to continue.

The 70mai A810 Lite pack includes an SD card, cables, static clear sheets for the 3M stickers to adhere to, and the books and tabs of course. Optional lens diffuser and 4G access and park monitor kit come at $39 and $100 and the 70mai A810 Lite $189 dual camera is good value. The Galaxy sensor is not as clear as the Starvis found elsewhere in the range so the 4K recording is 2K upscaled and frame rate limited.

70mai A810 Lite Voice control includes locking event videos into a save folder in addition to the buttons along the bottom of the unit. We found the voice control worked most of the time but you must use the specified words very clearly.

The design of the front camera looks classy, and the compact size fits neatly on the windscreen. When installing yourself make sure you tuck the wires into the headlining the down the pillar and across the dash. Never drape the cable over any part that sees airbag action. We routed the rear cam along the bottom of the doors using the clips and door weather seals. Mount the cams as high as possible.

Although the 70mai A810 Lite cam worked out of the box it need fettling to refine our needs. The time is best left to GPS sync, and the brand, time, GPD and speed stamps are optional in the menu, as is sound recording. Some of those can be voice activated as well.

The could easily read rego plate details, signs, and other data you might want to include in insurance claims ,with clear video evidence on your side. The front was much better than the back, but both were useful in most light situations.

70mai A810 Lite live view options allow PiP with either cam as master view, or, just front or rear selected.

App can be connected with WiFi but if you use CarPlay, remember only 1 connection can be used at a time, so either the cam or CarPlay, not both.

NOTE: other dashcams in the price range include Starvis sensors, but none had voice control as well.

Of the cams we’ve reviewed, the 70mai A810 Lite came in about average on video quality, ahead on features such as 4G and Voice, but it could use more processing power and a more flexible voice system.
