All New LEXUS LX Off-Roading Limousine Revealed

All New LEXUS LX 600 and 500d Revealed

Like its predecessor, LEXUS’ LX range is based on the recently Toyota Land Cruiser 300.

The significant model release is 100kg lighter than the old model, and is built on a new platform, with a new engine offerings. High-output twin-turbo V6 engines are the 305kW/650Nm 3.5-litre petrol in the LX 600 or a 227kW/700Nm 3.3-litre diesel in the LX 500d. Both come with a new 10-speed automatic transmission and enhanced driver-aid technologies for exceptional off-road capability.

The 2,850-wheelbase body comes on 20” or 22” wheels.

Convenience features such as electrically folding seats in all 3 rows, allows various pre-programmed functions, as well as individual movements. It gives drivers options to maximise passenger and/or luggage capacity.

Equipment is significantly upgraded too. The lineup has a new 4 seat “” model, as well as F Sport grades. The VIP has been lavished with every conceivable extra including: 4 reclining seats, rear 1^st-class-style foot rests, a limousine mode which folds down the front passenger headrest, and a shower-like climate vent system.

There are extremely cool features too, such as cup holder covers that double as a note-taking-table, and is coated with a scratch-resistant self-healing paint.

Auto mode, adopted for the first time, can adapt to every condition from extremely low-speed driving on rocky roads to high-speed driving on unpaved roads.

Double wishbone front suspension and trailing-link rigid rear axle, provide good ride as well as excellent off-road performance. Variable suspension heights include: Normal, Hi1, Hi2, and low. The latter allows easy passenger access.

Familiar features such as active cruise control and Crawl Control have been enhanced. Cruise control has a function that slows the LX down on bends.
