Subaru’s first shipment of 500 2022 BRZ coupes is all but sold out. Fewer than 90 cars remain, with the next shipment not due until the latter half of 2022.

As previously reported HERE, and HERE. BRZ was anticipated to be a sellout as was the previous BRZ, reviewed here for the last time.

The BRZ is all-new from the ground up.

BRZ has a brand new Subaru naturally aspirated 2.4-litre direct and port injection four-cylinder Horizontally-opposed Boxer engine. All New BRZ comes in the Coupe and Coupe S trim levels, with either a six-speed manual or six-speed paddle-shift automatic.

As we reported earlier in the year, BRZ comes with 18% more torque and over 20% more torque than old model in automatic form.

Not only that, all new BRZ has 60% greater front lateral bending rigidity and around 50% more rigid overall. Other improvements have been made including steering, and handling, which we already loved in the old model, but should now be even better.

Blair Read, General Manager Subaru Australia, said: “We are delighted by the reception for the all-new Subaru BRZ.  The number of Australian customers already eagerly awaiting delivery to their driveway is testament to the great package the Subaru engineers have delivered with the next generation BRZ.

“Emboldened with Subaru’s motorsport DNA, the Subaru BRZ is the car for drivers seeking an iconic vehicle that delivers raw performance, an exhilarating ride and enhanced driving dynamics.”

Interested customers can pre-order their BRZ online (https://www.subaru.com.au/around-the-corner/register-your-interest/brz) or through their local Subaru Retailer.
