Cadillac OPTIQ and VISTIQ Join LYRIQ in Australia & New Zealand

Cadillac is making a grand entrance into the local EV scene with two new models—because two just wasn’t enough. The OPTIQ and VISTIQ are set to join LYRIQ and LYRIQ-V in Australia and New Zealand in 2026, adding some much-needed American glitz to a market often dominated by more sensible (but completely uninspiring) European and Japanese offerings.

Announced in Tokyo, the move signals Cadillac’s commitment to right-hand-drive markets. “We made a commitment that Cadillac’s incredible all-electric product portfolio would be a truly global offering,” said John Roth, Vice President of Global Cadillac. Translation: they’re here to shake things up.

Cadillac OPTIQ: The Baby Cadillac with Bite

The OPTIQ is the new gateway drug to Cadillac’s electric lineup. At 4820mm long, it’s more compact but still loaded with swagger. With a dual-motor AWD system pumping out 224kW and 480Nm, this twink Caddy isn’t just about looking gym-ready—it’s got the muscle to match.

Cadillac promises a blend of practicality and performance; with solid cargo space and a ride that’s both smooth and spicy. “With near-instantaneous torque, OPTIQ delivers a unique and spirited driving experience,” said Chief Engineer John Cockburn. In other words, it’s got the zip to make your morning commute more thrilling than tedious.

It runs rings around the dull and tarnished Tesla Model Y, “Juniper” or not. That brand is something that simply cannot be repolished.

Cadillac VISTIQ: More Seats, More Attitude

For those who need more space but want some in-your-face class, the VISTIQ is Cadillac’s full-size, three-row SUV. At 5222mm in length, it’s a full-on bougie land yacht, but Cadillac swears it handles like a much smaller vehicle. A dual-motor AWD system and optional Air Ride Adaptive Suspension promise a ride as plush as it is poised.

“Bold, yet refined, the VISTIQ provides a comfortable ride while handling like a much smaller vehicle,” said Chief Engineer Jeff MacDonald. Translation: you can haul the family in style without feeling like you’re piloting a barge.

Best of all, It isn’t German, so will probably hold together beyond the first service.

Cadillac’s Growing Aussie and Kiwi Fan Club

With four models now confirmed for Australia and New Zealand, Cadillac is throwing down the gauntlet in the luxury EV game. “These new and exciting models will double Cadillac’s line-up in Australia and New Zealand,” said Jess Bala, Managing Director of GM ANZ.

The big question remains—will Aussies and Kiwis bite? The market is still dominated by more familiar European and Japanese brands, but if Cadillac can bring the right mix of tech, performance, and street cred, it just might turn some heads.
