Genesis Opens Largest Australian Shop with GV60 Magma Concept


Genesis’ sexy new showroom makes a bold statement. The Australian luxury automotive market gets a kick in the pants with the opening of the Korean car maker’s largest retail space, Genesis Sydney, located on Parramatta Road in North Strathfield. The pampering space opens on January 29, marking a significant milestone since the brand’s local debut in 2019.

The unveiling will be celebrated with an exclusive cocktail party featuring Genesis Global Head Mike Song and legendary motor racing icon Jacky Ickx. Attendees will also witness the Australian debut of the GV60 Magma Concept, a show-stopping electric vehicle that blends avant-garde design with cutting-edge performance.

Genesis is clearly gunning for the premiums spaces like those of Audi and BMW. The crisp, state-of-the-art facility follows Genesis’ Korean design philosophy, “Beauty of White Space,” creating a stimulating yet minimalist environment. With indoor space to display up to eight vehicles alongside outdoor exhibits, the facility also has two customer delivery lounges, and some conference spaces.

Justin Douglass, Head of Genesis Motors Australia, hailed it as a “landmark facility”, adding: “This stunning showcase represents the pinnacle of Genesis’ commitment to Australia, offering a progressive and luxurious customer experience that sets us apart.”

The GV60 Magma Concept will take centre stage at the launch. This debut model recently won its class at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and will enter global production later this year Genesis made no secret of its ambitions to develop high-performance Magma editions across its lineup, combining surprising aesthetics and extreme performance.

Adding to the festivities, Jacky Ickx will showcase the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept with demonstration laps at the Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race. The GV60 Magma Concept will also hit the iconic Mount Panorama circuit, showcasing its prowess to Australian motorsport enthusiasts.

With seven locations across four states, including flagship studios and metropolitan showcases, Genesis continues to expand its Australian footprint. The opening of Genesis Sydney invites locals to explore a brand that redefines luxury through audacious design, innovative technology, and a distinctly Korean perspective.
