KIA EV6: UK Versions – What’s in it, and What to Expect

EV6 is KIA’s answer to the Hyundai IONIQ 5. The international Specifications show a fast EV with big battery storage, in a long range format.

Pictures have been around for a while, but with launches close, KIA Australia is taking registrations of interest.

We’ve provided the UK specifications as a teaser.

Battery: either a 77.4KW with up to 328 mile (528km) range, or a 58KWH model. Hyundai only brings in the higher capacity battery, so KIA will probably do the same.

There is a GT version with a 3.2 second 0-100 available in some markets.

• Characteristic daytime running lights with a sleek, modern appearance, forming a ‘digital tiger face’, a design progression evoking Kia’s ‘tiger nose grille’ for the electrified era
• Air is channelled through and under the car’s flat floor for optimum aerodynamics
• A swept-back windscreen provides dynamism and purpose, with the bold rear haunches adding volume
• Special attention has been given to make each of the variants look unique and distinct from each other
• A choice of alloy wheel designs in 19- or 20-inches
• Six premium colours on offer

Interior

• Innovative use of interior space, creating a unique spatial experience
• Interior design liberated by Kia’s dedicated E-GMP platform, offering increased space compared to previous Kia EVs based on existing internal combustion architecture
• Seamless high-tech curved high-definition audio visual and navigation screens
• Curved display sweeps across the dashboard, providing an instrument cluster in front of the driver and infotainment and navigation above the centre console
• Multi-mode display replaces physical buttons with a single screen, for a minimalist, yet intuitive design
• Haptic shortcut ‘buttons’ for heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as infotainment controls
• Slim, lightweight and contemporary seats, finished in vegan leather; dashboard clad in materials made from recycled plastic bottles
• A choice of black vegan leather, black suede and white vegan leather and black suede with neon green stitching
• Up to 490 litres of luggage space with the seats up and with a maximum boot capacity of 1,300 litres when folding the rear seats down

Powertrains and running gear

• 77.4kWh Lithium-ion polymer battery pack as standard in the UK
• Two pure electric drivetrains available from launch – 226bhp RWD and 321bhp AWD
• ‘Air’ models available exclusively with RWD powertrain; ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ models offer choice of RWD and AWD
• Battery pack beneath the cabin floor and between the axles, for a flat floor, exceptional use of interior space, low centre of gravity and optimum weight distribution
• Ultra-rapid charging can take the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in just 18 minutes when using a 350kW charger
• A rapid charge from 10 to 80 per cent takes 1 hour 13 minutes using a 50kW charger
• The battery pack can be replenished to 100 per cent with a 7kW home charger in 7 hours 20 minutes
• Optional heat pump on ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ models aids efficiency in colder seasons
• Macpherson Strut front suspension, with multi-link arrangement at the rear on all grades
• EV6 is capable of towing a trailer of up to 1,600kg
• All cars come equipped with a five-metre Type 2-to-Type 2 charger, as well as a Type 2-to-domestic three-pin plug charger as standard

• Twin 12.3-inch touchscreens with curved panoramic display standard on all EV6 models
• ‘Connected car’ Kia Connect functionality fitted to all versions
• Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay^® smartphone compatibility as standard
• Augmented Reality Head-Up Display as standard on ‘GT-Line S’
• Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA) now includes sensors for city, pedestrian, cyclists, junction turning on all models, with junction crossing on ‘GT-Line S’
• Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Lane Follow Assist (LFA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Driver Attention Warning (DAW) fitted as standard on all versions
• Rear parking sensors and reversing camera system with dynamic guidelines fitted to every EV6 model, with front parking sensors on ‘GT-Line’ models and above
• Blind-spot Collision Avoidance Assist (BCA) with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Safe Exit Assist (SEA) standard on ‘GT-Line’ models and above
