A new online service by BMW Australia has gone live that allows customers to reserve a BMW without the need to leave their home.

BMW Shop, which is accessed via shop.bmw.com.au, provides a fast and efficient way to secure a new vehicle.

The method to reserve the vehicle is completed in four steps: model selection, paint choice, trim choice, and the preferred dealer. A deposit is paid at the end of a process that takes just moments.

If the vehicle selected via the online tool matches models currently in stock and does not need to be ordered from the factory, the vehicle can be fast-tracked for delivery within days.

The first vehicle to be offered via BMW Shop is the 530e plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV), which combines a responsive combustion engine and powerful electric motor to provide a highly efficient driving experience.

BMW Shop additionally minimises person-to-person contact and respects both national social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

BMW Group Australia CEO Vikram Pawah said BMW Shop provided a progressive solution as customers sought safe and seamless methods of shopping.

“This is yet another example of BMW setting new benchmarks in the digital world while also offering a tool that truly exhibits our core focus of customer centricity,” Mr Pawah said.

“Our provision of the 530e as the first vehicle available via BMW Shop is also fitting; it underlines our Power of Choice strategy whereby we offer customers a range of powertrain options in addition to showcasing leading BMW drive system technology.”

The BMW Shop service will expand further in the future with availability of other models and new features to enhance convenience for customers.
