GEN3 Evo promises enhanced performance, new look, and all-wheel drive capabilities

Porsche has unveiled its latest all-electric Formula E racer, the Porsche 99X Electric, set to compete in the upcoming two seasons under the new GEN3 Evo regulations. Revealed on 24 October via an online presentation featuring Formula E’s safety car driver Bruno Correia, the Porsche 99X Electric showcases cutting-edge technology and Porsche’s commitment to leading the electric motorsport field.

GEN3 Evo: The Future of Formula E Racing

The Porsche 99X Electric introduces several innovations, most notably front-wheel drive activation during qualifying duels, race starts, and Attack Mode. This temporary all-wheel drive setup enables the car to accelerate to 62 mph in just two seconds, enhancing both acceleration and cornering speeds. The new Hankook tires offer higher grip for even faster lap times, while a redesigned front wing boosts durability, making the car more resistant to contact during races.

World champion Pascal Wehrlein and António Félix da Costa continue as drivers for Porsche’s TAG Heuer Formula E Team, while Jake Dennis and new Porsche works driver Nico Müller will represent the Andretti Formula E team.
