Suzuki Australia has confirmed that the temporary sales hold on the Jimny XL is officially over, with customer deliveries resuming immediately nationwide.
The pause began at the end of July, when Suzuki Motor Corporation launched an investigation into the five-door Jimny XL. With no clear timeframe for resolution, Suzuki Australia instructed its dealers to prioritise customers by offering deposit refunds to anyone unwilling to wait. It was an unusual step, but one grounded in Suzuki’s long-standing global reputation for quality, reliability, and customer care.
That investigation is now complete, and Suzuki has confirmed there are no concerns regarding the Jimny XL’s quality, safety, performance, or compliance. Effective immediately, wholesale and retail sales may resume, and vehicles previously held at ports and yards are being released to customers and dealers.

Michael Pachota, General Manager for Automobiles, said the decision to pause was disruptive but essential: “Our customers’ trust in Suzuki is built on the promise that quality and safety always come first.” He thanked both customers and dealer partners for their patience and support during the hold, adding that the brand is excited to continue delivering one of its most loved models for Australian drivers.
The Jimny XL brings extra practicality to Suzuki’s cult off-roader, with a five-door layout that makes it easier to live with while retaining the Jimny’s rugged, go-anywhere DNA. Whether it’s tackling a track or parked at the local café, the XL has fast become a favourite for buyers who want classic 4×4 charm with everyday usability.
With sales now resumed, Suzuki is back in full swing — and the Jimny XL is once again ready for Aussie roads, trails, and adventures.
