Toyota persevered with hybrid drive when other brands have fallen by the wayside with their electric drivetrain attempts. Now, electric, and part electric drivetrains are ubiquitous. We’ve long loved the Toyota and LEXUS hybrids for their flexibility, and the frugal drinking habits. Previously, Toyota exterior had been little better than a fridge on wheels, but nowthe range stands out, and C-HR is eye-catching.
Gay buyers tell us they like something a bit different, and that usually don’t have kids to cart about. That may well be true, but even gay families that do have yunguns will find C-HR more than capable. Safety first!
It took me a little while to come to grips with the look, but now I love it.

We’ll be doing the full C-HR review soon, but the best part about C-HR is that it offers something different. It isn’t a bland box of misery that has been visited upon us by other brands. The price is reasonable considering the excellent level of technology included as standard.
Obviously Covid has limited our drive opportunities, but this only served to highlight the fact that hybrids are fabulous around town.
A space saver spare tyre is essential if a full spare can’t be fitted in. Small SUVs now feel more like a medium hatchback than a honking great continent-crosser, and that opens it up to a whole new audience.
It is intended to appeal to younger drivers, and I think that has bene spot on.
As with all small SUVs, their on-road credentials are pretty good, but the off-road, not so much. There is a passing interest in tracks and trails, but would you really want to try and tackle mud in something that isn’t a serious off-roader? I think not.
Use it for what it was meant for, a city car with the occasional mini road trip.
C-HR is perfect for two.
