Add that list to a drive on some of the best driving roads in Australia, and an afternoon playing hooky becomes a great way to turn your back on a world gone mad. BRZ is an extension of the driver. You will it around corners. There si just enough acceleration to make it exciting, but not enough to make it dangerous.

It may not seem it, but BRZ is a classic Japanese sports car in a long line classic Subaru sports cars. Alongside BRZ and WRX STI, Vortex (aka VX) and SVX blazed a trail with their boxer engines and dramatic exteriors.

Performance on those earlier models was mild with set against their modern cousins. Vortex had as little as 72kw, peaking at 100kw. SVX was powered by a flat -six boxer engine with 180kw, and sold for an astonishing $11,500, only $22,000 in today’s money.

BRZ is currently selling for $46,000 new, but those 173 units are the very last of the current model.
