Subaru is adding extra gear (but no extra power) with another take on its boy-racery WRX, arriving in 2025. Meet the WRX AWD tS Spec B—an aggressively styled (with a huge spoiler), manual-equipped (because the alternative is a CVT), all-wheel-drive “performance machine” designed to keep driving purists from missing the much-lamented STI, too much.
The pluckiest of all Scoobs is not just a favourite with fanboys. We love it.
Details are still tightly under wraps, but Subaru has teased some tasty morsels. First up: 19-inch matte grey alloy wheels, and beefy Brembo brakes with ventilated discs promising serious stopping power. Inside, hip-hugging Recaro front seats feel the love, while a massive rear wing shouts out loud and proud.
Under the bonnet, the WRX AWD tS Spec B retains Subaru’s familiar 2.4-litre turbocharged Boxer engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. That means bags of WRX fun—Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, precise handling, and ferocious grip.

Subaru Australia’s General Manager, Scott Lawrence, is keeping us in suspense, saying, “This is just the first glimpse of what’s to come.” But for those eager to get a sneak peek, a prototype will be flaunting its stuff at the Thrifty Sydney 500 Opening Round from February 21st to 23rd.
And in case that wasn’t enough Subaru action, the brand continues motorsporting itself into a frenzy. Credentials are renewed by its ongoing partnership with Supercars in 2025 as the Official Race Control and Course Car Partner of the Repco Supercars Championship.
Aussie WRX fans who want to be first in line for the tS Spec B can register their interest at Subaru’s website. Expect more juicy details to drop soon—this one’s going to be a little ripper.
