GWM has announced an enticing introductory offer ahead of the launch of its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in Australia, the Haval H6GT PHEV. Early adopters will benefit from a $2,000 discount on the original driveaway price of $55,990, bringing it down to $53,990. Adding even more value, GWM is including a complimentary 7kW EV charger, valued at $499, to provide a convenient home charging solution.
To reward its loyal customers, GWM is offering two additional bonuses. Drivers trading in a GWM vehicle for the H6GT PHEV will receive a $3,000 trade-in bonus, while those purchasing the PHEV as an additional vehicle will be eligible for a $1,000 loyalty bonus. GWM is keen to take a slice of the Toyota hybrid cake, although PHEV buyers are thin on the ground.

The Haval H6GT PHEV is built on the brand’s flagship ‘Ultra’ model, combining technology and performance. It is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged hybrid engine, producing a combined output of 321kW and 762Nm of torque. That is a similar figure to the last of the V8-powered Commodores, something buyers still aspire to. With the advent of electric propulsion, these figures are less rare.
This enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Additionally, its class-leading 35.4 kWh battery provides an electric-only range of up to 180 km — more than double the range of its closest competitor in Australia. As with most PHEVs, fast charging is not available.
The H6GT is the more attractive of the H6 lineup, and has a coupe-inspired design. The hybrid performance, impressive list of safety technology, and comfortable cabin should make the Haval H6GT PHEV a favourite in the mid-size SUV segment. As we said of the petrol-only H6GT version, it was excellent for the price.
This limited-time offer is available for contracts signed by 31 March 2025. For more information or to take advantage of this exclusive offer, visit a GWM dealership or go to www.gwmanz.com.
GWM’s initiative highlights its dedication to combining sustainability, performance, and outstanding value in the Australian market.
