GWM Offers Free Servicing Part as of New PHEV Test Drive Campaign

Forget the usual corporate sales pitch because GWM is tired of just talking about how its plug in hybrid tech works and wants you to actually sit in the seat. The brand is launching a fortnight of focused energy for the sales team, offering a bribe that is actually worth your time. If you test drive and pull the trigger on a new PHEV between February 21 and March 7, 2026, they are tossing in three years of scheduled servicing for nothing. Depending on what you buy, that is a gift worth up to $1,595.

This is not some small scale operation. GWM is currently sitting third on the PHEV leaderboard in Australia, commanding nearly eight per cent of the market. Last year they shifted over 4,100 of these things. The Haval H6 and H6 GT are doing the heavy lifting, proving that people are finally waking up to the idea that you can have a battery for the school run and a petrol engine for the long haul without the usual range anxiety tantrums.

The star of this show is the Hi4 architecture. It stands for Hybrid Intelligent 4WD, and it recently picked up a top engineering award in China, the first time a hybrid has done that in thirty years. While most hybrids are busy trying to save a few drops of fuel, this system focuses on not being boring. It uses a twin motor setup with three power sources to balance grip and speed. It figures out what surface you are on and adjusts the power before you even realize you are losing traction.

For those who actually want to get dirty, the Hi4-T system in the bigger rigs combines that electric punch with proper mechanical four wheel drive, low range gears, and locking diffs. It is the best of both worlds, silent electric crawling off road with the backup of a combustion engine when you are deep in the bush.

With over 190,000 units of the original sold, the pressure is on to keep that momentum without losing the enthusiast community that built the brand.

The deal covers almost the entire fleet. The Cannon Alpha PHEV gets the biggest win with $1,595 in servicing value. The Tank 500 PHEV follows with $1,455, while the Haval H6 and H6 GT variants get over a grand each in free maintenance. Just keep in mind that the Tank 300 PHEV is snubbed from this specific offer, so do not go in expecting a freebie on that one.

You have a very tight window to make this happen. You need to sign the contract by March 7 and take delivery by the end of the month. GWM is betting that once you feel the torque of the Hi4 system, you will stop worrying about the charging cables. It is a calculated move to keep their momentum going while the rest of the market tries to catch up.

If you are sick of corporate talk and just want a car that works without costing a fortune to maintain, this is the time to head to a dealer. You get the award winning tech and GWM pays for the oil changes. It is a simple trade. Just make sure you like the car before you sign, because the clock is ticking on the free maintenance.

The strategy here is clear. GWM wants to dominate the middle ground. They know that full EVs still scare the traditional Aussie buyer who wants to tow a boat or head into the outback. By offering a system that handles both the daily commute on electricity and the weekend trip on petrol, they are cutting through the noise.

The Hi4 system is the real hero. Unlike the older, more timid hybrid systems that felt like a glorified golf cart, this is built for performance. It has three power sources working together. It can switch between pure electric, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid modes faster than you can blink. It is about intelligence. The car knows if you are on a slippery boat ramp or a dusty track and sends the torque exactly where it needs to go.

This campaign is about more than just a free service. It is a statement of confidence. GWM is betting that the driving experience will sell the car. They are putting their money where their mouth is by covering the maintenance costs, which is usually the first thing buyers worry about when they see a new, complex powertrain.

The Australian market is changing fast. People are moving away from the standard internal combustion engine, but they are not all ready to jump into a Tesla. This is where the PHEV shines. It is the bridge. And with five models now in the GWM stable, there is something for everyone, from the urban H6 to the beefy Tank 500.

If you have been sitting on the fence, this is the push you needed. You get a car that handles the commute for pennies and a company that picks up the bill for the first three services. That is a win in any language. Just remember the dates. February 21 to March 7. If you miss that window, you are back to paying for your own filters and oil.

GWM is making a play for the top spot. With sales numbers climbing and technology that is actually winning awards, they are no longer the underdog. They are a serious contender in the Aussie car market. This test drive event is just the beginning of what looks like a very busy year for the brand.
