F-PACE 400 SPORT
F-PACE’s sexy body is enhanced by the new 400 SPORT getting a host of exterior design elements that scream “look at me, please.”
Adam Hatton, Exterior Design Director, Jaguar, said: “Developing the new 400 SPORT model gave us the opportunity to subtly accentuate the F-PACE’s inherently assertive, purposeful design and deliver an even more confident on-road presence, while beautiful, rich materials – including Windsor leather, Suedecloth, and meticulously-crafted veneers – make the interiors even more luxurious. Together with the quiet, effortless performance from the six-cylinder engine, the new F-PACE 400 SPORT will make every journey extraordinary.”
New 21-inch ‘Style 5105’ wheels look good with the the Black Pack, privacy glass and Gloss Black roof rails. They have a five split-spoke design and a Gloss Black finish, making the outside look menacing. Those wanting more bling can option up to 22-inch ‘Style 1020’ forged wheels, in Black with Satin Black inserts or Gloss Silver with contrast inserts. These are specified with self-sealing all-season tyres, eliminating that nasty old space-wasting spares..
F-PACE 400 SPORT colours inclulde one solid finish, seven metallics and a choice of two premium metallics, Carpathian Grey and Charente Grey.
400 SPORT has slimline Performance Seats in Windsor leather, matched to an Ebony Suedecloth headliner and Satin Charcoal Ash veneers. Ambience goes up a notch with Premium Cabin Lighting with 30 colours at the fingertips.
No Jaguar would be complete without some dash in the form of the 400 SPORT’s Ingenium 3.0-litre in-line six-cylinder petrol MHEV engine. It packs 294kW/550Nm worth of spark coming from the twin scroll turbocharger supported by an electric supercharger, continuously variable inlet valve lift control and a 250bar direct fuel injection system. It gets rid of that irritating turbo lag, catapulting the big cat from 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds, and on to a max of 250km/h.
Mild hybrids are a good mid step on to full EV’dom, and this MHEV uses a Belt integrated Starter Generator in place of a conventional alternator to recuperate energy that would otherwise be lost during deceleration and braking. The power is stashed in a 48V lithium-ion battery under the cargo floor, then unleashed during brisk acceleration. There is the added advantage of a much and more responsive stop/start function.
If you don’t fancy the full shebang, choose the 184kW 4-pot petrol or the 221kW diesel six-cylinder Ingenium. The diesel also features 48V mild-hybrid technology for even greater refinement and efficiency.
All F-PACEs get all-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic with metal shift paddles.
Ask Alexa
F-Pace now comes with Amazon Alexa, giving natural voice to the Pivi Pro infotainment system’s features including navigation, music, podcasts and audiobooks, calls and compatible smart devices.
You can ask: ‘Alexa, navigate me home’, ‘Alexa, play my chill-out playlist’ and ‘Alexa show me nearby coffee shops’ can all be made by voice. If you’re really bored, you might check news, weather, and manage your schedule or shopping list. Alexa uses the hive mind that lives in the cloud to make things up to date. The longer It lives, the smarter it gets.
She is also compatible with smart home tools. ‘Alexa, set the living room temperature to 20 degrees’, for example.
Existing owners of F-PACE models with Pivi Pro are among more than 55,000 Jaguar customers to have been offered Alexa in a software-over-the-air update4.
