Kia Launches Stunning EV5 in Australia with Drive-Away Pricing

Kia Australia has just dropped the latest news for EV enthusiasts: the all-new Kia EV5 is officially on its way, and it’s not just about style—it’s about value, too. With a starting price of $56,770 across both RRP and driveaway for the entry-level Air Standard Range, the EV5 promises to give Aussies more electric bang for their buck.

At the top end of the range, the GT-Line AWD, arriving in December, will set you back $75,990 driveaway. But for that price, you’re getting a futuristic machine packed with tech that will make Tesla blush. Kia Australia’s CEO, Damien Meredith, said, “EV5 marks a significant milestone in Kia’s global journey to increase access and take-up of electric vehicles.” Kia’s going full throttle on their electric revolution, and the EV5 is ready to be a game-changer.

Three trim levels include: Air, Earth, and GT-Line. Air offers a front-wheel drive (FWD) powertrain and the choice between a standard 64.2 kWh battery or an 88.1 kWh long-range option. The Earth and GT-Line trims come with all-wheel drive (AWD) and the long-range battery as standard. With a local ride and handling program, Kia’s ensured that the EV5 will handle everything our unique Australian roads can throw at it.

The EV5’s design isn’t just about good looks, although it’s definitely got those. Kia’s signature “Opposites United” design language gives it a robust front end, sleek folding door handles, and futuristic “Star Map” LED lighting. This SUV’s exterior is all about blending rugged capability with city-slicker appeal. Inside, Kia has pulled inspiration from the award-winning EV9, with a spacious cabin and dual 12.3” displays designed to make your life easier (and cooler). If you’re feeling fancy, the GT-Line throws in heated and cooled storage, an augmented reality head-up display, and even Remote Smart Park Assist 2.

Safety, as always with Kia, is top-notch. Expect features like Highway Driving Assist 2 and a centre side airbag across all trims, with extras like a Blind Spot View Monitor available in the GT-Line.

Whether you’re into high-tech gadgets, luxury touches, or a smooth electric ride, Kia’s EV5 lineup looks set to make a splash. And with drive-away pricing, Kia is taking the opposition head-on.
