Kia’s EV9 Undergoes Final Testing in Camo Gear


Kia has teased the world with glimpses all-new Electric SUV, the EV9.

For the last 44 month, EV9 has been put through an intensive regime of strenuous tests at the global Namyang R&D center in Korea. In addition, Kia sent the EV9 on the road to locations far and wide to further cement the brand’s commitment to electronification.

By the debut in 2023, the new Kia flagship model will have covered many hundreds of thousands of real-world kilometres. The large SUV promises to do to the segment what EV6 has done for the medium market

Test involve pressing the performance, range, driving dynamics, technology and comfort, in the kinds of situations that drivers will find themselves facing in their daily lives. The SUV was subjected to a 4WD climbing hill and a rough terrain track, and a deep-water wading test, to see of claims that electric SUVs are not real SUVs

The test puts EV9 in a high-speed situation to show up any weakness in the basic design. In addition, the low-friction tracks and other tests put EV9 up against set criteria, and the opposition. When designing a vehicle from the ground up, parameters include very specific examples of what other brands offer.

The ancient cobbles of Belgian roads challenged EV9’s ride comfort and build quality, while other picturesque places tested the resilience of EV9 to face heat and cold, while keeping the pssengers comfortable and safe.

The world first saw Kia’s newest flagship model as the Kia Concept EV9, unveiled at AutoMobility LA in Los Angeles last year. Kia has gone from the leader of cheap and cheerful, to a company able to produce a vehicle personifying ‘Opposites United,’ the brand’s ground-breaking new design language.

Kia EV9 will sit at the pinnacle of what is possible for the Korean brand to do with an SUV, even an electric one. The Kia EV9 uses the group’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), will promises a new era in sophisticated, high-technology, sustainable mobility.

 

EV9 breaks cover in the first quarter of 2023, following the success of the award-winning EV6, whose cabinet of treasures includes the highly prestigious European Car of the Year 2022 title.
