LEXUS Extends UX300e EV Range by 200km

The Luxury trim level comes in under $80,000, giving buyers the possibility of being exempt from the Fringe Benefits tax.

The 72.8kWh battery pack is 34% bigger than earlier UX300e models, adding 200km to the range. The new 12.3” infotainment tablet has Wireless Apple CarPlay, but Android phone users still have to use USB cables.

UX300e now gets 3 years free Lexus Encore Platinum Electrified which brings free home charger installation, access to the Chargefox rapid public charging network, Lexus On Demand and Valet Parking8 at participating shopping centres (conditions apply).

Other new technology updates include SOS Emergency Call, Automatic Collision Notification and Stolen Vehicle Tracking, diagnostic information, and remote access through the Lexus Connected smartphone app.

ABOVE: 2023 LECUS UX300e

The UX 300e Luxury has

  • dual-zone climate control
  • washi instrument panel stitching
  • heated and ventilated front seats
  • heated steering wheel and rear outboard seats
  • NuLuxe synthetic leather upholstery (aka plastic seat covering)
  • 17-inch alloys wheels
  • LED headlamps with static auto-levelling
  • Full Lexus Safety System + technologies.

UX 300e Sports Luxury adds or replaces with:

  • leather accented upholstery
  • moonroof
  • head up display
  • panoramic view monitor
  • adaptive high beam system
  • high-grade three projector LED head lamps with dynamic auto levelling
  • acoustic front side glass
  • grade specific 18-inch alloy wheels

This solves one of our biggest gripes with the previous review of the UX 300e, which was for the money, we expected greater range. Although most drivers don’t do more than 60km a day, limited range puts road trips out of the question. UX 300e is a very comfortable car to drive and it is a shame to think that owners couldn’t take full advantage of the VIP treatment anywhere but in town.

Prices:

UX 300e Luxury$79,990
UX 300e Sports Luxury$88,490
