Lexus’ LF-Z Electrified concept car debuted with their first battery electric vehicle (BEV), the UX 300e, at the 2021 Lexus Melbourne Cup last week.

The LF-Z Electrified concept vehicle was air freighted from Japan to Australia for the event, such is the esteem with which the Japanese auto maker holds Australia.

LEXUS partnered with the Victoria Racing Club (VRC) to name the event, the Lexus Melbourne Cup.

LEXUS asks us to ‘Live Forward’ to inspire, and excite to leave Australians feeling optimistic about the future. The moniker also reflects the brand’s direction, with “brave design, exceptional craftsmanship and exhilarating performance.”

LEXUS will be driven by the electric push, with new vehicles to be revealed over the next few years.

LF-Z has a mountainous 400kW/700Nm does the 0 – 100km/h dash in 3.0 seconds. LEXUS DIRECT4 uses a high-torque electric motor on each wheel for maximum grip and control.

The UX 300e, goes on-sale in Australia this month, as the fastest and most dynamic Lexus luxury compact SUV, with centre of gravity similar to a coupe.

For years LEXUS stuck with aging petrol engines, but is fast transitioning to being the leading hybrid-electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and battery electric brand, to best meet the diversifying needs of luxury customers worldwide.

one out of three Lexus sold in Australia is part electric, and in 2022 the all-new hybrid NX, hybrid UX and hybrid ES will be there  highest selling powertrain in each model line.

Adding to LEXUS UX 300e will be the expanded Encore programme, with benefit like 8 valet parking entries at Westfield shopping centres, and at Chadstone shopping centre. The programme includes a facility to step into a different LEXUS for a special occasion. You might take an LX to the countryside, or an LC500 for a cheeky getaway.

All UX300e owners get a home charging station included, plus 3 years of Chargefox fast charging, while out and about.
