The Nissan MICRA is back, and honey, she’s electric! After 40 fabulous years and five generations of being your cheeky urban companion, the all-new 2025 Nissan MICRA EV struts into the B-segment wearing a bold new outfit and packing serious battery-powered punch. It’s not just a reboot — it’s a full glow-up, bringing Euro flair, Japanese precision, and enough tech to make a Tesla blush. Think of it as the MICRA’s “Born This Way” era – loud, proud, and unapologetically electric.
Designed at Nissan Design Europe in London, the sixth-gen MICRA flaunts SUV-inspired styling, swoopy LED “welcome wink” lights, and a solid stance thanks to standard 18” wheels. She’s playful but assertive, available in 14 lush colour combos, including sleek two-tone options. Whether you’re a “Modern”, “Audacious”, or “Chill” type (we see you, Nico), there’s a vibe to suit.
Inside, it’s minimalist glam with a 10.1” digital dash, matching touchscreen, and an interior hinting at Mount Fuji in the centre console – because why not serve culture and comfort? The cabin feels lifted straight out of an upmarket lounge, with a hint of Scandinavian calm and a dash of Tokyo pop.
Under the skin, the MICRA sits on the AmpR platform she shares with the Renault 5 E-Tech, making her a sister from another mister. There are two battery options: 40kWh (308km) and 52kWh (408km). Charging is snappy — 100kW DC gets you from 15% to 80% in around 30 minutes — and with V2L capability, you can power your camping kettle or a hair straightener in the wild. Take that, glamping!

With up to 110kW of power and 245Nm of torque, MICRA’s not just a city cutie. She’s got legs for weekend getaways, and thanks to clever suspension and a low centre of gravity, she handles like a pocket rocket. Despite that solid SUV look, she weighs just 1400kg (or 1524kg for the big battery), making her agile and frisky around town.
Like the 2024 Subaru Solterra Touring, the MICRA nails the tech game. With Google built-in, NissanConnect app features (including remote AC and charge scheduling), and ProPILOT driver assist, she’s smarter than your average Bear (Grylls, not Twink).
For the compact EV crowd, the MICRA EV is gunning straight for the likes of the Peugeot e-208, Renault 5, and Fiat 500e, but with more flair and a Japanese reliability rep. Think of her as the sensible best friend who just came back from a Berlin rave with a new wardrobe and a sustainable lifestyle.
Arriving in Europe later this year, the 2025 Nissan MICRA EV is proof that good things do come in small, fabulous, battery-powered packages.
