Swedish electric performance brand Polestar is making waves—literally—by teaming up with electric hydrofoil pioneer Candela to bring sustainable luxury to Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance on Cockatoo Island from February 28 to March 2.

Tickets HERE from $400

In a world where sustainability can mean sandals and straw hats, style is an anathema, Polestar and Candela eschew the concept with grace and elegance. Their partnership showcases the Candela C-8 Polestar Edition, a sleek electric hydrofoil boat powered by the same battery tech found in the Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor. Unlike conventional boats that guzzle fuel like a football team at a post-match pub crawl, the C-8 ‘flies’ above the water, slashing energy consumption by up to 80% and delivering a serene, high-speed cruise. The hydrofoil design also minimises noise and wakes, making it an environmentally friendly choice for waterways sensitive to disruption.

For those who prefer their thrills on land, Polestar is offering a Polestar 3 shuttle service, taking guests from the Swedish Performance Hub to a static Polestar 4 display. Expect plenty of double-takes as the Polestar 4, with its controversial no-rear-windscreen design, challenges traditional SUV norms. With its coupe-like styling and a high-definition rear-view camera system replacing the traditional mirror, Polestar 4 is redefining what an electric luxury SUV can be.

Chris Hrones, co-founder of Candela’s Australian distributor Carbon Yachts, summed up the partnership best: “Concours d’Elegance is about celebrating icons—vehicles that define their time and push boundaries. Candela and Polestar are proving electric mobility isn’t just viable, it’s superior.”

With Polestar expanding its lineup to include the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 alongside the established Polestar 2, the brand is clearly doubling down on sustainable performance. The Polestar 3, a high-end luxury SUV, offers long-range dual-motor variants, with a single-motor version set to arrive in 2025 boasting over 700km of range. Meanwhile, the Polestar 4, the fastest Polestar to date, delivers a blistering 0-100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds.

And with Candela now making waves in Australia, we may be witnessing the future of electric mobility—on both road and water. The combination of groundbreaking hydrofoil technology and cutting-edge EV design shows that sustainability doesn’t have to mean compromise.

If the future is this sleek, sign us up.
