Nico Müller is joining the Porsche family! The 32-year-old Swiss racing ace will be tearing up the track for Andretti Formula E in the upcoming eleventh season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Porsche is really doubling down on their electric racing program, and Nico’s addition to the team is a huge win.

Müller will be joining forces with some of the top dogs in the sport. He’ll be lining up alongside his new teammate, 2022/2023 World Champion Jake Dennis, as well as Pascal Wehrlein and António Félix da Costa from the works TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team. With these heavy hitters, Porsche is clearly making a statement in Formula E. As for whether Müller will be dabbling in other racing series with Porsche, we’ll have to stay tuned for that announcement.

Nico is no newbie to Formula E. He’s been burning rubber in the electric racing world since the 2019/2020 season, with a brief pause in the 2021/2022 season. Last year, he had his best run yet, finishing twelfth overall with the Abt Cupra Formula E Team. Now, with the super-efficient Porsche 99X Electric, he’s got his hands on the championship-winning car from the past two seasons. That’s like being handed the keys to a winning lotto ticket!

Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport, couldn’t be more thrilled. “Welcome to the Porsche family, Nico Müller! We’re over the moon to have a pro with such diverse racing chops join our squad. Nico’s shown what he’s made of in some seriously tough racing series – he’s won the Nürburgring 24 Hours and been runner-up in DTM twice. We’re counting on his formula racing know-how to boost our Formula E game. We’ll see if he ends up racing in any other series for us – more news on that to come!”

As for Nico, becoming a Porsche works driver is a dream come true. “This is a massive honor,” he says. “Porsche is the brand every racing driver looks up to. To be able to represent Porsche is something truly special.”

Porsche is now in its sixth Formula E season, competing not just with the works TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team but also supporting the American customer team Andretti Formula E, both running the Porsche 99X Electric. Developed at Porsche’s carbon-neutral Weissach facility, this innovative electric racing car is a true testament to the brand’s commitment to electrification, sustainability, and cutting-edge tech. Formula E isn’t just about winning races for Porsche; it’s a high-speed laboratory for their future electric sports cars.
