See These Rolls Royce Boat Tail Bovet Watches Sparkle

Rolls Royce recently unveiled their bespoke coachbuilt Boat Tail. The somewhat impractical Roller comes in an at equally impractical £20mill price. It is about as posh as personal transport gets. It was often said that the loudest thing in a Rolls Royce cabin was the ticking of the clock, so it seems only right the 3 Boat Tails will have a watch to match.

In fact, they come as a his and hers matched duo by Horologists, Bovet. Hubby and wife get a tasty timepiece housed in a BOVET 1822’s patented Amadeo case. What is that I hear you ask? It allows the watch to be worn around the wrist, or around the neck or as a pocket watch. If that is far too common, you can use it as a table clock, or mounted proudly in the Boat Tail’s dashboard as the car’s own clock.

When the watch isn’t in the car, an engraved filler takes its place.

There is a drawer inside the Rolls that holds the watch, its straps, the chain, and the necklaces, just in case sir and madame change their minds half way through the trip to the opera house. It may cost an arm and a leg, so the time is displayed on both sides, making it reversable so as to be worn on the arm you still have.

In fact it is so handsome, there might even be a fight on when the mistress finds out the lady’s version went to the missus. Perhaps in a gay ttwist, matching His and His watches? The possibilities are endless.

The dials include a front wood marquetry panel with a Spirit of Ecstasy. They gone to town on the rear face. The gents is glass with the starfield featuring his date of birth, and the lady gets a hand painted posy on mother of pearl.

If the wilful excess of a regular Rolls Royce motor car isn’t enough, and the stratospheric Boat Tail doesn’t have your head in a tizz, then a really posh watch will get your creating juices flowing.
