Hilux is Toyota’s biggest selling car, followed by RAV4 at 2,132 and Corolla with 2,117 sales.  Ford Ranger has a way to go to catch up. Ranger is Ford’s biggest seller. In fact if not for Ranger, Ford would have few sales to speak of. The next best was Everest with 553 units, then Focus with 267 cars sold. Things are looking bad for Ford passenger cars and their belts are being tightened.

3: i30 is Hyundai’s biggest seller. The Korean maker has slipped 8.2% in sales in the difficult market. i30 sold 2,216, followed by Tucson with 1,693 and Kona’s 1,367 sales respectively.

4: RAV4 sold 2,132 last month, and is the second of the 4 cars Toyota has in on the top ten list. Toyota’s bullet-proof reputation has taken a few hits in recent times, but it doesn’t appear to have dented its customer opinion.

5: Toyota Corolla features in almost every Australian’s childhood. 2,117 were sold last month, making Corolla the 3rd of the 4 Toyotas in the top ten.

6: Toyota Landcruiser is the grand daddy of SUVs. It goes anywhere, and tows anything. It can transport 7 people in comfort, and sold 2,101 units last month.

7: Cerato is KIA’s top seller with 1,827 of them sold last month. KIA is one of the very few car makers to increase overall sales last month. A handsome range with a 7 year warranty has seen increased KIA’s standing year on year. KIA is now number 6 over all, with 5.8% of the market, ahead of Nissan (4.7%), VW (4.7%), Holden (4.2%) and Honda (4.1%).

8: Mazda CX-5 is their best seller with ,1708 cars finding homes last month. Mazda 3 is next with 1,415, then CX-3 with 1,216 sales. Mazda is down 9.4% overall.

9: Another handsome Korean, Tucson is Hyundai’s 2nd car in the top ten. Only 3 cars in the top ten are passenger vehicles, with the rest being SUVs like Tucson.

10: X-Trail is 1 of 2 Nissans to break 1,000 sales last month. 1,592 units were moved, with Navara selling 1,089 of 2X4 and 4X4 vehicles. Nissan is down 11.5% on this time last year.
