Mitsubishi priced the returning Pajero from $68,490 plus on-roads, and the 10-year warranty needs a dealer only service.
Mitsubishi confirmed local pricing and specification for Mitsubishi Pajero, available in December 2026. New Pajero seems to be priced in isolation, ignoring movement in the market. China now holds half of the top 10 sales spots, Chinese models are taking over the top 10 too, and all are priced well. Japan and Korea are losing ground fast.
Prices are plus on-roads:
- GLS 5-seat, $68,490
- GLS 7-seat, $69,990
- EXCEED, $79,990
- GSR, $84,990
Mitsubishi Motors Australia counts more than 3,000 pre-registrations.
Every grade uses the 4N16 2.4-litre 150kW/480Nm turbo-diesel, which is 10Nm more than the same engine makes in Triton. The mechanical package is the same from GLS to GSR:
- Mitsubishi Australia‘s variable-geometry turbo with a water-cooled intercooler, dual-loop EGR, and a 17-litre AdBlue tank, meeting Euro 6d
- 8-speed automatic, lighter than the old auto, with a wider ratio spread and engine blipping on downshifts
- Super Select II 4WD with low range and a rear diff lock
- Super All Wheel Control and Active Yaw Control
- 7 drive modes across the 2H, 4H, 4HLc, and 4LLc settings
ABOVE: 2026 Pajero
Under it:
- A ladder frame stiffer than Pajero Sport’s, with longer suspension travel, wider tracks, and stabiliser bars
- Wishbone on coil spring at the front, 5-link with torque arm at the rear
- Electric steering, replacing the old hydraulic rack
- 3.5 tonnes braked towing, with trailer sway assist
- Roof load of 300kg static, 100kg dynamic
That’s the hardware we were waiting to see when Pajero’s return was announced.
What Mitsubishi Pajero Money Buys
GLS starts at $68,490 for 5 seats and $69,990 for 7, plus on-roads. It gets:
- A 12.3-inch centre screen and a 12.3-inch cluster
- 6 speakers
- Waterproof fabric trim
- Manual seat adjustment with electric lumbar
- 18-inch alloys on 255/65R18
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is MITSUBISHI CONNECT with automatic collision notification and remote climate control.
EXCEED is $79,990 plus on-roads and takes both screens to 14.3 inches. It adds:
- Leather and electric front seats
- Heating for the front and rear rows
- A refrigerated console box
- Second-row sunshades
- 20-inch machined alloys on 255/55R20
- 12-speaker Yamaha audio with an 11-channel dual amplifier and a subwoofer
That’s $10,000 over the 7-seat GLS, and it’s the point where a Pajero starts trading on other people’s flagship money.
GSR asks $84,990 plus on-roads, another $5,000 up. For that:
- Two-tone camel and black leather
- Ventilated front seats with memory
- A panoramic sunroof beneath a black roof
- Black 20-inch alloys
- Adaptive driving beam and a digital rear view mirror
- Nanoe X air purification
- A grille LED lamp, and lamp animation
New prestige paints Armour Copper and Phantom Blue join the palette, with the copper restricted to EXCEED and GSR. Black Diamond is EXCEED and GSR only too.
Seating is 5 or 7 depending on grade. The rest of the practical detail:
- Second row slides over 150mm
- 519 litres VDA with the third row folded, plus 10 litres in an underfloor box
- USB-C charging at up to 27W, Qi wireless at up to 15W
- A 220V AC outlet in the rear
- An off-road display with an altimeter, pitch and roll inclinometers, a compass, and Active Yaw Control status
The Multi Around View Monitor includes a see-through bonnet view, which is what you want when placing a front wheel on a rock ledge.
The safety suite is range wide. Every trim level gets:
- Front, side, front-centre, and driver knee airbags, with curtain airbags for rows 1 and 2, and for row 3 on 7-seaters
- MiPilot adaptive cruise with lane keeping
- Traffic sign recognition and an intelligent speed limiter
- Forward collision mitigation with pedestrian and cyclist detection, predictive FCM, and rear AEB
- Blind spot warning, lane change assist, emergency lane assist, and cross traffic alert at both ends
- A driver monitor, child presence detection, trailer stability assist, and parking sensors front and rear
Take a meander $16,500 up the range and it buys slightly posher trim, bigger screens, and more toys. But, for that price you can get much more and get change if you shop in another showroom.
The 10-Year Warranty Has Conditions Attached
Mitsubishi Pajero gets 10 years or 200,000km, plus 10 years of capped-price servicing and roadside assistance. T Mitsubishi’s Diamond Advantage conditions hold the 10-year, 200,000km warranty only while every service goes through a Mitsubishi dealership at the proper interval. The very strict terms define that as within 2,000km or 2 months of the due date. Skip a service, or use the independent workshop down the road, and the cover reverts to 5 years or 100,000km. It’s written for private buyers and small business operators with fewer than 5 vehicles, and some government, rental, and national fleet customers are excluded. It transfers to the next owner, provided the schedule was kept.
Mitsubishi Pajero Against the Chinese Alternatives
Japan is playing a brave game. Its brands continue to price cars as if there is no competition and their decline in sales shows drivers have wised up. GWM Tank 300 Ultra Hi4-T costs $59,990 drive-away with 300kW/750Nm and 3,000kg of braked towing. Twice the power of any Pajero grade for less money, though it tows 500kg less. GWM has drive-away while Mitsubishi prices are plus on-roads. Our Tank 300 Ultra Hi4-T review has the detail.
Further up, Denza B8 makes 425kW/760Nm, tows the same 3.5 tonnes, seats 7, carries a 36.8kWh Blade battery with a range of 1,040km and weighs 3,290kg. Denza’s launch pricing puts the 7-seater at $91,000 plus on-roads, which is $6,010 above GSR, but has much more gear. Denza B5 is $74,990 and $79,990 plus on-roads. Its dearest 5-seat version asks exactly what the 7-seat Mitsubishi Pajero EXCEED asks, but again, has more gear.
Mitsubishi Pajero sells on Super Select II, a 3.5-tonne tow rating, a diesel that meets Euro 6d, and a warranty term decided by your service history rather than your driving. Pajero gets to showrooms in December 2026, with the same 150kW/480Nm diesel from GLS to GSR.
