Kia Sorento S is the cheapest of the big SUV models. For cheap, do not read nasty. Everything about is class and elegance personified, except perhaps the seat coverings. Outside only a keen punter will spot the 17” wheels. Dressed in white, the base is defined by wheels that look just a touch too small, but smart none the less.
It’s hard to make a bus look cool, but Kia’s new Carnival looks nearly as sexy as the new Sorento. It’s almost as if Sorento backed into a granny flat. The thing is vast. When Carnival emerged from its covid-bound chrysalis , we reviewed it HERE.

Kia, Kia, Kia! A Humble entry level car maker no more. With this Cerato, Kia’s run up the charts continues. Cerato comes in 4 models, from the bare bones S, through the Sport, to the unimaginatively named “Sport+”, that has a PLUS after it, so it must be better. The top of the tree is the GT, with red bits, so it goes faster.

Stonic is KIA’s we-est soft-roader, and is perched on Rio’s platform. The diminutive hatch is snug for 4, but 4-up was tickety boo, for our sneaky 2-nighter down south. We headed down the road for a hilltop stay as Casper’s retraite à la campagne in the rural idyl of Picton.
KIA had the choice, take Seltos or Stonic first, and they chose the former. The model recently got a midlife update, and it is that model which brings the KIA SUV range to 4 models. KIA never seems to put a foot wrong, if we don’t include Pro Ceed GT. That was a great car ahead of its time, but I digress.
Is KIA’s New Carnival an SUV Alternative? KIA’s new Carnival arrives with much hoopla and fanfare, and like its predecessor is based on Sorento, and that’s a good thing. It resembles the latest Sorento in looks and features, and continues the model’s segment-crushing popularity. Carnival has been killing it for years, and is the go-to for peeps with more bums than the average family.
