Genesis Motor Europe revealed it’s G70 Shooting Brake for savvy European customers. G70 Shooting Brake is what we in Australia call a “station wagon” version of the G70 sedan. Australian station wagon sales are slipping so it remains to be seen whether Genesis Australia will release it here.
The Shooting Brake has been a favourite in European automotive, even those in the luxury market. The G70 Shooting Brake has SUV practicality without the SUV bulk.

ABOVE: Genesis G70 Shooting Brake (station wagon)
There is 40% more cargo area than in G70 sedan with rear seats that fold 40:20:40.
The Shooting Brake follow the design of the G70 sedan, but a lower bonnet means the signature Crest Grille a little lower than the headlights.
The side profile also looks slimmer than the SUV. A single-piece glass hatch, over which a floating integral spoiler, gives the Shooting Brake a strangely expensive look. It looks almost Porsche-esque.
The dog friendly cargo area has been increased by by moving tailgate hinges forward. Signature Quad Lamps from the rest of the Gensis line-up, continue from the corners of the rear end, and extend across the tailgate. The low loading lip is pooch perfect which will have gay couples everywhere cheering.
Genesis has launched the G70 Shooting Brake, which is the fifth Genesis European model, to confirm its commitment to the European market.
Genesis officially announced its plans for the European market on 4 May. Genesis says Europe, with Germany in particular, is the home of luxury cars. With that in mind, the Shooting Brake kicks off in Germany, the UK and Switzerland. These are markets where the Shooting Brake style already sells well.
Dominique Boesch, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe, said: “We are delighted to reveal this bespoke product – tailored for our European customers – so soon after revealing news of our arrival into the region.
“The G70 Shooting Brake marries luxury and European automotive heritage with our design philosophy of Athletic Elegance. Our fifth car in Europe, the Shooting Brake will stand apart through its unique design; it is a clear statement of our commitment to the region.”
