Jeep Fuels Farmers Across Boarders Trucks

The Esperance-based charity, Farmers Across Borders, will gift much-needed hay to their neighbouring drought-affected farmers this Valentine’s Day weekend. To support the effort, Jeep Australia will be fuelling 15 road trains loaded with donated feed as Farmers Across Borders travel from Esperance to critical regional towns in Western Australia.

The first feed drop-off point will be in Leonora on Sunday night. On Monday the volunteers will deliver hay to recipients in Meekatharra, Murchison, Wiluna and the surrounding areas.

“Western Australia is going through a really tough time right now. Between the most recent Coronavirus outbreak and the fires that have travelled through Perth Hills and Yallingup, it is important to let our neighbours know that we’re here to help out,” said Ms Sam Starcevich, co-founder of Farmers Across Borders. “It’s been a hard-hitting few months for the farmers up North and we’re excited to provide them with a bit of reprieve.”

“Fuel has always been huge expense incurred on our trips and we’re so grateful that Jeep is continuing to support our cause this year,” she continued.

Jeep Australia will be assisting Farmers Across Borders this year by providing a support vehicle for the team to travel in, and fuel to fund the road trains on the trip.

“Year in and year out, Australian farmers have to face some of the toughest conditions and testing challenges. The work that Farmers Across Borders do to support our farming communities is something Jeep has been very proud to be a part of for the last three years,” said Managing Director of Jeep Australia, Kevin Flynn.

Farmers Across Borders still need help to fund fuel costs for the trip. To make a donation or for more information about Farmers Across Borders, please visit https://www.jeep.com.au/farmers-across-borders.html
