This isn’t just another electric car; it’s MG’s full-throttle dive into the future, with a wink to the roadsters of yesteryear and a whole lot of tech to back it up.
Looks:
The Cyberster is gorgeous. its sleek Ferrai-esque profile includes a set of fancy scissor doors that lift skyward in a display of pure opera. These doors aren’t just for show—they make hopping into the cockpit easier, especially with the wide sills and arches. It’s a nod to luxury cars but with a playful MG twist, proving the brand still knows how to have a bit of fun even in the electric age.
The design draws clear inspiration from MG’s roadster legacy, with a long bonnet, short boot, and a cockpit set well back—classic proportions for a modern marvel. The front end has a sleek, pointed nose that harks back to the MGB, while the rear is adorned with Union Jack-inspired LED lights. Those cheeky little indicators shaped like arrows are a playful homage to MG’s British roots, and they manage to look futuristic without feeling forced.

It’s got plenty. With an electric motor at each end delivering a combined 375kW, the Cyberster catapults from 0 to 100 km/h in a blistering 3.2 seconds. Forget petrol fumes and engine growls—this silent powerhouse is all about clean energy and thrilling speed. Whether you’re weaving through city traffic or taking on a winding coastal road, the Cyberster’s performance is bound to leave you grinning ear to ear.
Under the hood—or rather, under the floor—is a 77kWh battery that delivers a very respectable 443km range on a single charge (WLTP). Need a quick top-up? Thanks to 150kW (limited to 142kw) fast charging, you can juice the battery from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes. So, while you’re grabbing a coffee, your car’s prepping for the next leg of the journey. Efficiency has never looked so stylish.
Inside:
The Cyberster cabin is like entering a different world. The wraparound three-screen cockpit includes 10.25-inch central touchscreen, with smaller 7-inch touchscreens on either side, that handle everything from navigation to media controls.
The steering wheel even comes packed with usual controls so hands don’t leave the wheel.
Cyberster is two seat’s worth of sex-appeal. The Alcantara racing-style seats cradle you in luxury, but grip in corners. They can handle the biggest of bums on the longest of trips.
There’s plenty of legroom, allowing even the tallest of drivers to sample Cynerster’s ware’s without slipping a disc getting in.
Entertainment comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system.
Some of us were worried when the most British of British marque was bought by a Chinese car company. It is true that early attempts were quite up to the expectation created by the MGB and her successors, but Cyberster is a serious go at being every kid’s dream.
The Cyberster is more than just a car—it’s a statement that the future of motoring electric motoring isn’t hatched boxes that are about as exciting as having a prostate exam. There is a hint of Lambo, and a touch of Stingray and the result is a roadster that is naughty, thrilling, and a little bit extravagant. MG paying tribute to its roadster past, and bravely entering a market segment that is on life support. Passenger cars just aren’t a thing.
As a final flourish, there are five paint colours: English White, Sterling Silver, Camden Grey, Diamond Red, or the striking Royal Yellow. Two roof colours, black or red, let you dial up individuality a smidge.
It’s not all fur coat and no knickers. the Cyberster is built for pleasuring yourself, although we could have worded that better. It is a hefty lass so MG will have to work hard to get that handling right. Twisty back roads should be as tasty as a trip to the tropics.
There is all-wheel drive and all that glorious instant electric torque, and although its makers say Cyberster is capable on a track day, most of us will be cruising through the city in blissful Zen, only a scissor door away from a cold glass of bubbles.
In an era where EVs have become little more than fridges on wheels, the Cyberster injects some much-needed “Gimmie that sexy back”. Yes it costs a bit, but way less thatn we feared it might, so go on, get orf ya date!
