Sweden’s sexiest EV is about to make its gaming debut — the Polestar 5 is joining Gran Turismo 7 on PlayStation 4 and 5 this December, blending minimalist design with pixel-perfect speed. Shown off at the GT World Series event in Los Angeles, this collaboration between Polestar and Polyphony Digital promises the most realistic digital driving experience yet — and it’s drop-dead gorgeous.
Both teams gave each other open access to their top-secret development labs, trading everything from CAD data to on-track telemetry. The result? A car so authentic you can practically smell the Scandinavian leather through the controller. Gran Turismo’s Kazunori Yamauchi praised Polestar’s “clean, elegant design,” calling the collaboration “a delight.”
Professional racer and sim-wizard Igor Fraga got his hands on early Polestar 5 prototypes, fine-tuning the digital model after track sessions at Brands Hatch. His real-world feedback was baked into GT’s renowned driving physics, creating a virtual car that behaves exactly like the real one — down to its rear-biased AWD dynamics and instant electric torque.

Joakim Rydholm, Polestar’s Head of Driving Dynamics, says getting the “digital feel” just right was critical. “The virtual Polestar 5 is a one-to-one match for the real car. It’s as close as you can get without needing a charging cable.”
The real-world Polestar 5, due for launch in 2025, is a low-slung grand tourer with dual motors, around 650 kW, and an 800V architecture promising blistering acceleration and ultra-fast charging. Think of it as a Swedish take on a supercar — clean, quiet, and devastatingly handsome.
When the GT7 update drops in December, players can test their skills in a Polestar Time Trial Challenge, with the fastest driver earning a trip to Fukuoka, Japan, for the 2025 GT World Series Finals. To mark the occasion, Polestar will also release a short documentary on its YouTube channel showcasing the crossover between real and virtual engineering — proof that digital can still feel divine.
So whether you’re a gamer, an EV nerd, or just someone who appreciates a good Scandinavian design moment, Gran Turismo 7’s latest addition is one to watch. The Polestar 5 is bringing sleek sustainability to your console — and doing it with Nordic flair.
