A little known fact: the extraordinary engineering feat of the Snowy Hydro Scheme succeeded due to a few factors; intelligence and ambition, the worker’s bravery and Land Rovers. Produced from 1948, these were the only vehicles capable of tackling the rugged terrain and became the backbone of the program. With over 300 in service with the Snowy Mountains Authority, it was lauded as the ultimate alpine car.
