Tesla’s Cybercab Takes Centre Stage at Petersen Automotive Museum

Move over DeLoreans and Batmobiles—there’s a new star at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Tesla’s futuristic Cybercab, a fully autonomous robotaxi, is now on display in the museum’s main lobby until Thursday, 2 January 2025.

The Cybercab isn’t just a pretty face (although, let’s be honest, its sleek design is bound to spark heated debates over brunch). One of 20 pre-production models unveiled during Tesla’s “We, Robot” event in October, this self-driving marvel gave attendees at Warner Bros. Studios an autonomous taste of Tesla’s vision for “democratizing transportation.” With its minimalist aesthetic and cutting-edge tech, the Cybercab is positioned to take ridesharing into the sci-fi future we’ve all been binge-watching.

While you won’t be hailing a Cybercab to Mardi Gras anytime soon, the display at Petersen offers a rare chance to get up close and personal with Tesla’s next big leap. It’s like meeting the Beyoncé of robotaxis—up close, fabulous, and ready to disrupt.

The exhibit runs daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Tickets and further details can be found at petersen.org.
