10: Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator

Wrangler may not be the best drive around town. It may not even be the most reliable. It isn’t particularly good on fuel, and recently got a 1 star ANCAP rating because the floor failed in a crash test. But, it does look good cruising down Oxford St packed full of brothers and sisters.

Now there is the Gladiator too. What’s not to like?

9: Mazda MX5

Some girls just wanna have fun.

MX5 is a perennial favourite with both the girls and the guys. It is completely practical if only you and your main squeeze are the only trippers. It is reliable, inexpensive to buy and run, and fabulous to drive.

8: KIA EV6

Kia surprised us all with the EV6. It immediately won favorite EV status with some of our readers. Australia’s limit for the first load of 500 was snapped up in minutes. Read our full review for more.

7: Hyundai IONIQ5

Hyundai IONIQ 5 Gave Gay Campers the chance to take everything camping, including the kitchen sink. Its VTL outlet allows the Kia and Hyundai EVs to power a couple of outlets at the campsite. You’re not going too far off the beaten track, but when you get there you’ll be comfortable

6: Ford Mustang

We thought the V8 Mustang would win the gong, but readers have been opting for the 4 cylinder Ecotech Turbo. Maybe we’ve become more aware as petrol soars past $2.30 a litre (that’s around $6USD a Gallon folks)

5: VW Tiguan R

Tiguan isn’t brand new, but the addition of the R logo in April 2022 brought with it, a renewed vigour in a nameplate with many admirers. Gay Readers say they love performance and space. It was a close run race between it and the Golf R, but the numbers speak for themselves. 

4: Tesla Model S

An EV for the girl who has made it. She has gotten where she wants to be and life has been good. She has water tanks to harvest rain water, solar panels to harvest the sun, and her house runs with the efficiency of an armed SAS corp.

3: VW Golf R

We have done the MK8 Golf R Review Yet, but here is the MK7.5 Review. Come back in a few weeks to see what the gay readers think of the all new Gold 8 R. Gay drivers like extra power under their feet, and it doesn’t have to come from a throbbing V8 either!

2: VW Golf GTI

For over 40 years drivers have loved Golf GTI, and the MK8 Golf GTI brings the latest tech and handling. Gay readers said they loved the handling and would have preferred the AWD grip of Golf R, but couldn’t quite afford it. Next time maybe?

1: Audi RS Q8

This surprise entry, Audi’s SUV supercar, the RS Q8 was a star at the track day. Gay readers voted this as No. 1 of our recent reviews. Those present at the day loved the R8 as well, so enjoy our hot lap with the professional driver.
